Instructions 

1. Select a task or routine for which you would normally give verbal directions

2. Create a checklist of the steps that need to be followed and give each student a copy

3. Introduce the direction sheet and walk students through each step until they learn how to use it on their own

 

Modifications 

*Move to giving one copy of the sheet to a pair or group of students to release responsibility and ownership

*Involve students in the process of creating the direction sheets
