USE AI

Teach students appropriate ways to use AI tools to enhance their education instead of doing the thinking for them. Some ideas for using AI in the classroom: 

• Have students work in groups to generate responses to prompts or summaries of information, then have them give the same prompt to ChatGPT and compare the results. 

• Use ChatGPT to generate an outline for a written response, and have students complete the writing based on the outline AI made for them. 

• Compare peer feedback to AI feedback on a piece of student work. 

• Explore the limitations of AI by asking ChatGPT to provide a long response to a content-related question, then put students in groups and have them look for insufficient detail, biased information, or inaccuracies. 

• Play with voice and style by having students submit their own work and asking ChatGPT to turn it into a song, rewrite it as a poem, translate it to Shakespearean style, etc. 

• Have each student ask ChatGPT to quiz them on a specific topic to check their understanding and give them feedback.
